ALL GRAVEL CONTAINS FINES ! "Fines" are the "particles" of rock that are created during the crushing process, a process used to create the various sizes of rock:
- Sized contains 1 - 15 % fines
- Screened contains 20 - 40% fines
- Minus contains 60 - 70 % fines
- Minus materials (very small "crumbs") are commonly used for walkways, pathways, and driveways due to the ability of the material to compact.
Note on granites:
Due to the nature of mined substances, colors and consistencies of granites may vary. Color change will occur with aging, therefore matching of existing granite may not be possible. Rest assured that Siewers staff exerts every effort to assist you in finding the closest match possible.
The rock types we offer can be used for a wide variety of purposes.
